We don't do as many as you do but I will miss the occasional outing . . . but I say if they practice piano and listen to read alouds, play or build something, and maybe spend a little time outside or watch an educational program, it counts as a good homeschool day . . . at least for some of our days. Like Sylvia, Oliver has a birthday close to the start of the school year. If I wasn't a homeschooler, I would have kept him home one year and had him start Kindergarten at the age of 6, but since I homeschool I figure I can be flexible and go at a more relaxed pace with him until he's ready. As a person who loves to be organized and plan things out in advance, I admire all the work you put into planning! I usually plan for 150 days of school work and allow for 30 days of unschooling (field trips, listening to chapter books, etc.). That has worked in the past, but due to COVID-19, I'm not sure if it will work as well this year in light of field trips being more challenging to accomplish. I still want to stick with 30 days of unschooling, but I might have to document different things than I usually have in the past. This is my first year of documenting three kids as Oliver turns 8 in August so I wasn't impacted by the change in PA law since I would have needed to start documenting him this year even under the previous regulations. I'm continuing to pray that everything will go smoothly for you and the new baby when he/she makes his/her arrival!Ruthhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07294312184321261946noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3504438272766227101.post-86219338975375565182020-07-21T08:18:21.258-04:002020-07-21T08:18:21.258-04:00Every year it is astonishing what you plan and wha...Every year it is astonishing what you plan and what you accomplish!
